Lakeview Meeting Room transformed into Staughton Hall
Lakeview Meeting Room has been transformed and renamed. Dr. William Staughton (1770-1829) was a remarkable leader whose career included being the first corresponding secretary of the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society, formed in 1814. Read more about William Staughton
New sleek, powerful speakers provide great sound and the hall has acoustical separation from Pillsbury Hall above. LED lighting saves energy. Persons with disabilities are better served by the elevator opening directly into the new lobby, and by ADA-compliant restrooms. Over 70 pendant lights hang amongst ceiling panels that are painted in a color called “butter.” The eye-level views of the lake are stunning and the new patio, when finished, will be a divine space for breaks and gatherings!
A dedication worship service for Staughton Hall was held on July 8, 2018 in the Hall. It was a wonderful time with special guests including Carol Bauer, a descendant of William Staughton. Below are links to videos from the service:
